The REAL Live Search →
This is pretty bizarre. Supposedly it’s running off of Microsoft’s Bing servers, but it will search the internet as you type. Try it! It’s a bit of a surreal experience. It could also lead to shenanigans while trying to search for sextants or shih tzu (if you don’t know how to properly spell it.)

The next best thing to pet salvation in a Post...
“You’ve committed your life to Jesus. You know you’re saved. But when the Rapture comes what’s to become of your loving pets who are left behind? Eternal Earth-Bound Pets takes that burden off your mind. We are a group of dedicated animal lovers, and atheists. Each Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after...

Slow times at work.
Now, here’s a question for you. Have you ever been listening to a song that you’ve heard a billion times before, but on this one occasion you hear something that sounds totally different? As if there’s an extra instrument, or a different lyric, or the beat skips around in a way that you’ve never, ever picked up on previously? Now, seeing as it is clearly impossible to have...

Capoeira rhythms, World cup ambitions
So excited was I by Ian McDonald’s 2004 Indian opus, River of Gods, that I immediately scrambled to acquire his 2007 foray into national/ethnic sci-fi, Brasyl. Clocking in at under half the length of River, Brasyl deals with another bustling country on the verge of greatness: Brazil. River of Gods astonished with a blinding whirl of intricate world-building, so much so that its central plot...

EU's exploding-iPhone investigation heats up |... →
“I’m on my third iPhone (having upgraded twice), and I’ve also owned an iPod Touch. I loved them all dearly, largely because they never exploded into flames, burning me and my family alive. Just saying. But it seems that other people might not have been so lucky. Numerous reports say the European Commission is now looking into accounts of exploding iPhones and iPod...

Ponyo Review
"HAM!!!"
"Teeth!"
"Fantastic!"
"I'm gonna say that too. AHOY!"
"It's not for you! It's for the baby!"
"For milk!"
"My mom made milk for me too..."
"Antenna!"
"BUG OFF BUG OFF BUG OFF BUG OFF"
"I'd let a fish lick me if it'd get me out of this chair."
And that's our review! It makes about just as much sense as the movie, at only a quarter the cuteness.

WatchWatch
The Website Is Down A series of videos about office life shot from computer screens, or in this case, a security camera.  This one is about how to deal with technical issues, the other two are about sales and IT.  Hopefully there are more to come, because so far everything has been astounding.

– Mightygodking has a new writer, and I think I like her. I kind of imagine Eddie Izzard doing something wonderful while reading this, and that’s a plus. You’re reading Mightygodking, right? Right? The blog about comics, geek tv, geek movies and the Canadian law system?

Water main break floods Greenwood intersection »... →
I caught the end of this coming home yesterday.  A water main burst and flooded much of the intersection, spilling over the street into some businesses.  When I got there after work, the city crews were still hard at work.  The water had been mostly drained, and what was left was a good layer of mud along the curb, which the city crews were trying to shovel away.  Seeing this and the car smashed...
